Argentinean/Italian Daniel González lives and works in Berlin. There he molds reality, to create magic. González transforms space according to his own rules. Which is how reality changes one sequin at a time; rebellion through the beauty of art. González’s public works, sequin banner paintings and unique items carried by high-impact performances create alienating, sexy and energetic worlds: spaces filled with freedom, in which existing conventions taste defeat. Since 2007, González has been collaborating with Italian artist Anna Galtarossa. Together, they made Chili Moon Town Tour, a floating city of dreams, and Homeless Rocket With Chandeliers, a crane decorated with ‘street’ elements. In 2008, Daniel González was invited to make a workshop performance for Manifesta 7. Especially for festival The World of Witte de With, González is changing the typical Rotterdam street scene into a page from a pop-up book. For a moment, the spectator’s fantasy is all-important in creating the image of the perfect city.
