Visual artist/musician Hidde van Schie (1978) works in multiple disciplines. His work researches how – in fashion, advertising, sport, porn etc. – various aesthetic rules express certain moral values. To be able to understand his personal relationship to these moral rules, Van Schie uses the technique of collage as an artistic strategy by means of an intuitive process of construction and deconstruction.
After graduating from the Willem de Kooning Academy of Art in Rotterdam (2001) he received the Buning Brongers Prize for painting, in 2002. His work was exhibited in amongst others the Netherlands, Germany, France, Portugal, Rumania, Poland and Finland.
